I generally sit, watch, instruct, pick and eat

When we moved to Wellesbourne in 2010 one of the attractions of the village was the allotments. I promptly put my name down on the waiting list and waited.

When,  2 years later I got the call to say I'd got an allotment, I was so pleased and keen to get down there and start planting. I recruited my husband John as my labourer and he got stuck in!  The allotments needed lots of work but within a week he had dug the whole plot over. No mechanical help and totally organic. I hate weed and pest killers.

Over the last 8 years John has taken on more and more and I generally sit and watch, give instructions,  pick the produce and eat it. So all in all a great result !

The allotments are a glorious place - friendly people, the amazing Dementia friendly allotment and the open day is great fun. Let's hope they continue and thrive for many years to come.
